Milwaukee M18 Review

Milwaukee M18 is priced at $439 on Amazon and it comes with a lot of features. Hammer drill or drivers with POWERSTATE brushless motor that can deliver 1200 in. lbs. of peak torque and 2000 RPM, impact driver with POWERSTATE brushless motor that can deliver 1800 in. lbs., two REDLITHIUM XC 5.0Ah batteries that can deliver powerful performance and also 2704-20 ½ inch hammer drill, 2753-20 ¼ inch hex impact driver, two belt clips, two bit holders, side handle and a carrying hard case.

You might notice that the price tag is really high compared to Craftsman V20 but it’s really a powerful drill. We think that the price tag is worth it, especially if you’re a professional who are looking for a great investment in tools.

Milwaukee M18 can deliver speed of 2000 RPM and 32000 BPM. That is a lot of power for a tool that weighs only 3.5 lbs. for fastening job, it includes a ¼ inch hex impact driver that can deliver fast torque of 1800 inch lbs. there are four modes for drive control, so you won’t over-tightening your screws.

Both tools included in the kit are powered with M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 battery pack. This battery can run longer and can stand extreme working conditions. It can also protect your tools from overload. Now you can finish your job quickly without worrying about damages on the tool. If you work with masonry, Milwaukee M18 would be great too.

There are three speed motor with four driving setting available. The fourth mode allows you to use the self-tapping screw mode. This setting is designed to give you more control and reduce walking, over-driving, breaking and damage on the head.

As for the build quality, Milwaukee’s products don’t have any problem in this regard. They always use a typical overmold placement around the grip and the back. Milwaukee M18 received some improvement as the second generation of Fuel series. More robust components to allow better handling with the more powerful power that comes with the tools.

The sound can be really loud similar to grinding sound when used on hard surfaces like concrete and cement. Which can be very uncomfortable for some people. The side handle can’t go 360 degree only 90 degree, so keep that in mind too when using the tools.

Overall, Milwaukee M18 is compact and lightweight. Perfect for home users and professionals. The batteries are powerful and sophisticated enough to protect itself and the tools from damages. You can use the tools for a long period. The hard case is nice to have, packing and carrying everything with the case is easy and comfortable.
