Now let’s talk about its features and selling points. Dremel SM20-02 Saw-Max comes with a well-organized storage case. It’s not the most important feature, but it surely comes in handy for better storage and transportation of the tool. A good storage case keeps your tool in good condition and makes it last longer. Dremel SM20-02 Saw-Max’s main features are powerful 6 amp motor, versatile cutting system, worm drive gearing for durability and power, excellent line of sight, depth guide for precise plunge cuts, lock-on button for comfort during extended use, as well as on board dust extraction port to maintain a clean workplace.

This tool is designed for one-handed use and it can make straight, plunge, or flash cuts up to ¾ inches deep. It has the power to cut wood, plastic, laminates, drywall, sheet metal, and tile. This tool uses 3 inches diameter blades embedded with abrasives made for cutting edges rather than cutting teeth like the usual skilsaw blade.

Overall, Dremel SM20-02 Saw-Max is a great tool that has excellent build quality, strong yet quiet motor, as well as the ability to flash-cut and cut tile, wood, and metal. It’s also sold at a great price of $121.92 for its full bundle. It does come with a minor drawback though. In some applications, it uses too many abrasive blades.

But overall, Dremel SM20-02 is a great tool that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a good tool below $130.00.

Dremel Multi-Max Review

Dremel MM50-01 Multi-Max is a DIY tool kit that’s currently priced at $118.62 on Amazon. It holds a rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 from 157 customer reviews. This model is pretty popular, it’s currently ranked number 12 in Amazon’s Best-Selling Oscillating Power Tools. This product weighs 5 pounds and has a dimension of 17.2 x 4.2 x 10.5 inches.

With the price tag, you’ll get quite a package. A soft bag, Drywall Jab Saw Blade 1-1/4” Wood blade, two 1-1.4” Wood and Metal blades, sanding pad adapter, Half Circle Wood and Drywall blade, 80, 120, 240-grit sandpaper for paint 4 for each of them, 60, 120, 240 grit sandpaper for wood 4 for each of them, and of course the Dremel MM50-01 Multi-Max itself.

Dremel MM50-01 is an upgraded version of Dremel MM45. This model has 5.0-amp motor and uses a standard 3.2º oscillating angle and 10,000–21,000 OPM to get the job done. Those numbers are solid when compared to the best tools in the oscillating multi tool business.

While there are other tools that can plunge cut faster, Dremel MM50-01 still does a very good job. A slower blade speed can actually help you cut faster because you have more control over the speed and the direction of the cut.

The Dremel MM50-01 Multi-Max has a robust design that provides low vibration operation giving you better control for precise and clean cuts. However, when it comes to vibration, it still doesn’t challenge Fein as the best in the business. It’s not bad, but also not the best.

Other features of this model include its angled head, easy blade changes, and variable speed dial. Dremel MM50-01 head is 30% smaller than other tools in its class, making it easy to work on tight spaces.

Rather than using a trigger system to control its speed, Dremel MM50-01 Multi-Max uses a variable speed dial and power switch. There are 10 settings that you can use to utilize its 10.000-21.000 OPM no-load speed. But keep in mind that you can’t feather your cuts with these settings like you can with the trigger.

Other drawbacks of this model are the fact that it gets pretty warm when used for an extended period of time and its concerning long-term knob durability. But overall, this tool is a great tool that’s best suited for DIY workers and occasional Pro use.
